The Sovtek 12AX7WC has become the industry standard valve that is used by many manufactures for its super low microphonics and its solid and proven reliability. The WC is the top of the line selected variant of the WA.
The WC version it is factory selected version used by Fender as is used as Fender standard 12AX7 and is also used by Groove Tubes 12AX7-R and is the stock valve in modern Fender amps.The factory selects the items that have a medium uniform gain and close triode balance.
The benefits of the Sovtek 12AX7WC is that it has a lower noise floor when compared to the Chinese 12AX7. The valve produces a tight clearly defined bass and a clear smooth treble response. The factory selection ensures that the gain will give later breakup.
When the valve is run into distortion produces a clear vintage style overdrive and handles boost signals from pedals extremely well with no fizziness. It also has a very solid construction with rigid anode plates so is great in combo applications. It is also good all round replacement for modern high gain amps.
In my own testing spanning over 30 years these valve are super consistent and are the same batch to batch. In over 30 years you do not get better that that and a real testament to all the people who design and manufacture these valves.
