6AN8A is a triode-pentode that is used in many vintage guitar amps and Hi-Fi systems.

The pentode section provides the amplification while the triode is usually used as a phase splitter.

The Toshiba item is a very high quality item that was made to very tight production limits as this item was just by many Japanese audio manufactures. The valve has grey anode with 6AN8A in the glass and comes in the original box.
