Watford Valves has cryogenically treated some of the more popular and best sounding JJ electronic formally known as Tesla valves. This process makes a permanent change and the benefits do not deteriorate over time or upon return to operating temperature, it changes the whole way the vacuum tube performs. The biggest benefits I have found have been a dramatic improvement in dynamic range. Bass response has been clearer with reduction in microphonics. The soundstage is bigger with more detail with a big reduction in the noise floor. The really most starling fact has been how the valve operates under saturated and overdriven conditions in guitar amplifiers. The distortion is smoother with less hardness and is musically pleasing to the ear.
The JJ Tesla 6V6GTS Cryo is a specially cryo treated version and is the best sounding version of JJ 6V6GTS valve.

The Cryo treatment enhances the overall performance of this valves by giving extend clarity in the high end and upper midrange. It also fattens up the midrange response and removes the upper end brittleness that is associated with this JJ valve.

In clean playing application the JJ 6V6GTS has more clear high end with and tighter crisper midband. The bass response is also deeper, tighter and more controlled.

In overdriven mode the Cryo JJ 6V6GTS has a tighter bass and more even response with more note clarity. The Cryo treatment enhances the 6V6GTS valves overload characteristic which results in a fatter and tighter sound with a smoother more sustaining overdrive when the valve is pushed into distortion. This feature is not available in the standard untreated JJ 6V6GTS.

The Cryo JJ 6V6GTS also gives the overdriven sound a larger more detailed soundstage which will bring the best out of you and your amplifier.

The JJ 6V6GTS Cryo offers the audio user as well as the guitarist the ultimate performance.
The cryogenic treatment is proven scientific process that permanently enhances the valves performance. Under treatment the molecules will align in a more uniform, compact structure through the removal of kinetic energy. When the material is returned to ambient temperature, this new uniform, compact pattern is maintained, Thus changing the structure of the nickel permanently. This process makes a permanent change and the benefits do not deteriorate over time or upon return to operating temperature, it changes the whole way the vacuum tube performs.

The sound quality of the Cryo treated JJ is comparable with the rare new old stock valves which come with a much higher price tag.
