Tesla started production in 1922 under its original name of Radioslavia Ltd in Czechoslovakia. It has a long history of manufacturing high quality transmitting valves and defense equipment. The Tesla factory was known for making some outstanding valves. The Original EL34 better in terms of microphonics and reliability than the famous Mullard EL34, hence Marshall used the Tesla EL34 from the mid 1970s onwards. The frame grid E83CC was due to its construction the most expensive of it type to produce. Still to this day it is one of the best sounding ECC83/12AX7 types ever made. These are just a few of an endless list of pioneering valves produced by this great Czechoslovakian factory that sadly is no longer with us.
Original Czech made Tesla 6X4 EZ90 with the original 6Z31 markings. These are Very high quality and one of the best that I have come across hence I ways try to find these.

These date from 1972 and were military contract issued and made at the Zavod Trintec factory and have the factory code of 32 on the glass with the original Tesla Yellow print with cross sword print.

The design of this valve is very clever the Czech engineers used and a smaller glass envelope of approx. 45mm as opposed to the UK an American 55mm.

The valve has thick chrome anode supports on all four sides of the anode plate. The design resulted in a mechanically solid and vibration proof in valve in mobile applications. The solid internal anode support bracing and the smaller glass envelope makes this valve a mechanically superior to other 6X4 types.

These valves are an audio bargain and are excellent in mobile applications such as the Hammond organs used by many touring bands as they are mechanically and vibration proof. The solid internal anode supports bracing that run the length of the anode plates makes a big difference.
