Raytheon Technologies Corporation is an American multinational aerospace and defence Electronics group. They produced valves in the USA and distributed valves that they sourced around the globe under the Raytheon brand name. 1961 They took over British electronics company AC Cossor and merged it with Raytheon
The Raytheon 5V4GA is clear top rectifier with the shark tooth mica with the supported stapled anode plate and side getter.

The valve has 5V4GA USA etched on the glass which confirms that they were made in the USA by General Electric.

The 5V4GA has always been one of my favourite valve rectifier's for use in old Fender amps.

The most common use is to substitute the 5Y3GT for the 5V4GA. The reason for this is that when used in place of a 5Y3GT the 5V4GA produces LESS voltage drop. This results in the amp having LESS sag aka compression, which means that the amp has a cleaner and warmer sound with less hardness at the top end and giving the Fender a cleaner clearer sound.

The Raytheon 5V4GA is an excellent original USA made rectifier that will provide a great sub for a 5Y3GT in old vintage amplifiers; they are also the same specification as the GZ32 so will also work well in Quad 11 amplifiers. Original USA made Raytheon Item in the original boxes
