Carr Amplifiers are made by Steve Carr and his staff in Pittsboro,North Carolina USA. Having tried a number of these amps what I really like is the attention to detail and workmanship. The amplifiers are based on famous tried and tested circuits and they sound exactly as Carr amps describe. Our full revalve kit aim to help you get the best out of these excellent amplifiers.
The Carr Rambler Classic 6L6GC GT GE Re issue Full Revalve Kit is designed to give your amplifier that classic vintage American clean sound but also provides the most Authentic American overdriven rock sound that is typical if you have put in an expensive set of new old stock American made valves.

In order to gets this amplifier sounding this way we have used a combination of modern made and Vintage New old stock valves in the pre amplifier section. In the output section we have used the Groove tube 6L6GC General Electric re issue as no modern made output valve sounds so close to the original classic General Electric valve.

The valves are specially selected for low microphonics and gain and the kit includes a balanced valve for the phase inverter position.

The Harma ECC83 Retro is a true sounding recreation of the famous Mullard ECC83. This valve replicates the warm detail and harmonically rich midrange that made the Mullard sound so famous

The Harma ECC81 Retro has been specially chosen for its outstanding performance and sound quality. A specially selected balanced valve is included for the phase splitter position.


The GT 6L6GC-GE Re issue is a remake of one of the most famous 6L6GC of all time. GT have made a faithful recreation of the General Electric later type clear top 6L6GC.This valve has the most touch sensitive and large dynamic range of any modern 6L6GC.

This valve provides a warm smooth sound with a very clean and open treble. In Overdriven mode, the valve displays the bite and warm crunch that is only really found in Original USA made General Electric 6L6GC

Groove Tubes Super Premium valves are specially burst tested by us and matched by us in addition to GTs in house testing. This will ensure that you get the best selected GT valves available anywhere in the world.
