The Electro Harmonix 300B Gold is an upgraded high end version of the EH 300B .

This is one of the finest 300B I have come across that is on the market today.

Electro Harmonix 300B Gold is designed like the original Western Electric 300B, it has the 8 course directly heated filament, 40 watt plate dissipation, classic large shoulder glass envelope.The EH featues gold plated grids and uses top quality construction that gives it clean and musical dynamic response.

The Electro Harmonix 300B Gold plate curves and static DC characteristics (plate resistance, transconductance, mu) also exactly match the original Western Electric 300B so you installed these is any vintage as well as modern 300B amplifier and match the original's superior performance.

The Gold in the name refers to valves grid wire being gold plated, this gives improved performance to the grids as the gold reduces grid current. This improves the grid bias stability results in longer life and better sound quality. Sound wise this is one of the best sounding and best value for money 300B on the market.

This valve has outperformed (or blown out of the water) many expensive Chinese made items that cost nearly three times the price.

So these are really an excellent and sensible choice.
