By upgrading the valves to our selected sets customers have been able to voice their amps to their personal requirements. This Classic GT 6L6GC GE Re issue upgrade kit is designed to provide a great clean sound with a smooth treble and a crunchier and more dynamic sound when overdriven .It has the traditional American hard rock high gain tone and is a great valve if you are using modern high gain voicing.

The Harma ECC83 Retro provides a harmonically rich and detailed sound with excellent 3D midrange warmth. This valve has a traditional British voiced sound that has a huge singing sustaining tone when overdriven. The outstanding feature of this valve is its smooth linear midrange response and extended frequency response so you get smooth warm overdrive with tight fat punchy lows.

The Harma ECC82 Retro overdrives very evenly and does not fall apart when you saturate the amplifier. The valve improves the amplifier as it removes the grainy unmusical fuzz that is displayed by many modern ECC82 in the Blackstar. This valve adds fatness and midrange warmth to the Blackstar sound.

In the Blackstar these GT 6L6GC valves really excel and change the sound from a thin and harsh response which the stock valves display into a classic rock and metal amp. This valve provides a warm smooth sound with a very clean and open treble. The valve has a much thicker and fuller sound that has the slam when you hit a power chord. The single notes are also thicker and more responsive. Whether you bought this amp for metal or you bought it because of the tonal variation. The Groove tubes bring this amp to life as the GT is a faithful reproduction of the classic American 6L6GC tone that this amp was designed for.
