By upgrading the valves to our selected sets customers have been able to voice their amps to their personal requirements. Customers have reported a range of benefits when upgrading the valves over the factory items. The KT88 JJ Tesla Classic upgrade kit designed to provide an aggressive hard hitting sound with a tight thick bottom end from what is arguably the best the best metal amplifier on the market.

The Harma ECC83 Retro provides a harmonically rich and detailed sound with excellent 3D midrange warmth. This valve has a traditional British voiced sound that has a huge singing sustaining tone when overdriven. The outstanding feature of this valve is its smooth linear midrange response and extended frequency response so you get smooth warm overdrive with tight fat punchy lows.

The Harma ECC82 Retro overdrives very evenly and does not fall apart when you saturate the amplifier. The valve improves the amplifier as it removes the grainy unmusical fuzz that is displayed by many modern ECC82 in the Blackstar. This valve adds fatness and midrange warmth to the Blackstar sound.

What the JJ KT88 offers is a very forward and aggressive sound which is bright and cuts through the mix with ease. This is great on solos as well as on power chords. The JJ KT88 is at its best when it is pushed hard as it breaks up earlier than the Gold Lion KT88 and thickens up in the midrange.

This thickens up of the midrange gives a very tight and powerful sound, just like hitting a wall of sound. This is what sets the JJ KT88 apart, it just sounds huge. The other great thing about the JJ KT88 is than it does not loss the high end definition. The JJ KT88 provides tight controlled Bass, thick mids and an aggressive edge with no fuzz that makes you want to shred.
