Thermionic Culture Ltd. was formed in England in 1998 by Vic Keary and Jon Bailes to manufacture state of the art valve studio equipment. Vic Keary credentials are the best in the business as not only has he mixed, produced and engineered but also he designed the equipment that was used on countless hit records in his days at Lansdowne, Chalk Farm Studios & Chiswick Reach. Jon Bailes is an expert designer in the electronic manufacturing industry.

Our valve revalve kits use only the highest grade new old stock valves and the best of the modern made valves. We have put these kits together to allow easy ordering for our studio customers.
Thermionic Culture the Phoenix SB upgrade kit consists of a set of 6 selected valves to provide more punch and brightness from this legendary valve compressor.

The kit consists of a combination of German made valves that are renowned for their neutrality and accuracy in the signal chain and a brighter more aggressive USA made GE valve in the output stage.

This set uses a gain selected and balanced set of high grade original German made Mazda PCC85 valves in the input stage . In the output stage we use a balanced pair of USA made General Electric ECC81. The GE valve is some engineers preference due to its punchy and brighter sound when compared to other ECC81 Types.

2 Specially Gain selected & balanced General Electric ECC81
2 Specially selected RFT EB91/EAA91
