Siemens are a huge German owned manufacturer that has made and developed some of the worlds best vacuum tubes. Siemens first patented the x-ray tube On March 24, 1896. Siemens have made some of the best sounding audio valves that have become highly sought after for their sound and build quality.
RF Shielding

USA Made

This Siemens 6AQ5W come to us from government sources and were supplied to the military under the 6005 and CV1862 specification. These look to me like they we made in the USA by Sylvania

These feature the smoked glass which is RF shielding coating which was sprayed on inside the glass. To prevent RF interference. These were generally specified for military and communication applications. So I would say Siemens order these from Sylvania and supplied them for a specific contract where the RF shielding was required

The 100 way carton that these came in was stamped with the BWB certification. Some of the valves have this printed on them, but not all. The ones that do have this is printed on the glass inside the German military Eagle Crest designation. This meant that the valves exceeded the standard that was laid down for the 6AQ5W by German Federal Office of Defence Technology and procurement.
