Sylvania Electric Products Inc. based in Emporium, Pa was an American manufacturer electrical equipment and vacuum tubes In 1942 the company changed its name to Sylvania Electric Products Inc. In the early 1980s was Sylvania sold to Philips and the Philips ECG valves were produced in the Emporium plant until it closed
5X4G American Full wave rectifier that is made by Sylvania in the USA.

The 5X4G is now being seen in many new audio circuits as it is electrically the same as a 5U4G but is half the price. It is not pin compatible with a 5U4G.

These date from the early 1950s and are the black plate version which is an audio gem.

These come in the original Sylvania boxes.
