All preamp valves in these kits are specially selected and balanced for the phase inverter positions. All output valves are burnt in dual matched on current and output gain.
The Classic Philips 5881 Kit loaded in the 9005 provides early breakup with a biting midrange twang. The Philips has a crunchy sound with a very clean and open treble. The bass response is big and tight with a smooth warmth attack and does not get muddy and fizzy under extreme saturation. Solo's and riffs are punchy and very fat and they provide the classic Marshall sound
