DR Z amplifiers were founded in 1988 by Mike Zaite, a.k.a. Dr. Z.in Cleveland, Ohio, in the United States. In 1994 Zaite built several more amps for Joe Walsh to use on the 1994 Eagles World Tour this put DR Z name firmly in the public eye. Dr. Z amplifiers are beautifully made and many use a unique circuit design bases on the EF86 pentode. Our upgrade kits use the best combination of new old stock and modern day valves. These we believe will give you the best sound and performance from your amplifier. You have not compromised in your choice of amplifier, so why compromised on the choice of valves.
This full revalve kit is designed to give you the classic warm driving rock sound with plenty of rich high end sustain.

The Harma ECC83 Retro outstanding feature is a smooth linear midrange response and extended frequency response. So you get smooth warm overdrive with tight fat punchy lows and that classic Mullard style bottom end.

The Harma 6L6GC Retro is designed to break up later than many 6L6GC on the market in order to give that big Fender style clean sound.

The valve produces an even and rich soundstage without sounding muddy under full distortion. This is one of the best clean sounding current production 6L6GC.

The treble is clear and smooth and has a nice chime very close to the old USA made Philips Sylvania sound. When overdriven the valve produces a warn fat sustain but due to its extended treble response it cuts through the mix and is ideal for that modern high gain sound

The Harma GZ34 Retro is based on the Mullard GZ34 and is used as it provides the correct rectification with no reduction in B+ voltage unlike many of the modern GZ34 on the market today.

The valve set produces the ideal combination of warm top end chime with a tight classic crunch rock sound that will cut through the mix and get you heard; Punchy articulate top end sound which doesn't get hard or harsh at high volumes.
