The Harma ECC83 STR 5881 Full upgrade kit is designed to give a great rock sound with a very tight bass and with immense attack on solos.

The Harma ECC83 STR is used to maintain the amps sparkling clean sounds. The mid-range is clean and transparent which removes the mush from the sound when the amplifier is overdriven. The valve responds very well to pedals and crunches up with a fat well balanced tone.

In the output section we use the Harma 5881 as these original Russian 5881 produce a very tight and focused sound with immense attack. They produce a tight crunchy wall of sound which is very punchy. The bass response is far tighter and clearer and more importantly more extended than many other 5881 types

If the valve is pushed with the pedals at the front the treble is forward and nicely aggressive without any fuzz. If you scoop out the mids then you still retain the punch and clarity unlike many other 5881/6L6GC types. In this circuit this valve has a really aggressive natural tone which will really bring back the kick into your Marshall Style sound.
This is why Marshall used this valve to power their designs thought the 1980's and 1990's and why this provides excellent results in this class leading Friedman
