Indeed our own Harma E84L, which is the same Russian military valve that Hughes and Kettner are now using in their 30 th anniversary Tubemeister models. This is one valve that we have recommend for the last 20 years and with our upgrade kits you can now upgrade tour Tubemeister to Anniversary specification.

This Tubemeister Deluxe 40 STR E84L Anniversary Specification upgrade kit covers the Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister Deluxe 40 head and combos. This set will bring your amplifier up to Anniversary specification so you will get the maximum clean headroom for your clean sound and a rocking overdriven sound.

So if you use your Tubemeister for many different styles of music then this is the Kit for you.

The Harma ECC83 -STR is used as it has a very well balanced tone with nice even bass. The mid-range is clean and transparent which removes the mush and fizz that happens when the amplifier is overdriven

The Harma E84L is a high quality special application military valve and is the same as H&K use in the Anniversary model. The valve is electrically rated at having a plate dissipation of 14 watts, which is higher than any other EL84, all others being rated at 12 watts.

The valve has a mechanical rugged construction and thick glass as they were originally designed to be immune to shock and vibration as they were designed for military applications

These features reduce microphonics and rattle in all guitar combos. The valves also use high grade filament isolation so even after long periods of use the filament will not degrade. The valve also has a coated anode which makes it stable and able to stand high voltages. This is one tough customer, indeed no previous or current EL84 was made to this specification.

The valve produces the maximum clean headroom out of any current EL84 providing the best clean sound by far in guitar applications. The bass is really deep and solid with excellent balance and no hardness. In guitar applications it offers late breakup and displays a rich warm overdrive sound when distorted which is not matched by any current made EL84.
