Blackstar guitar amplifiers have quite rightly caused a major buzz in the music industry since their launch back in 2007. By upgrading the valves to our selected sets customers have been able to voice their amps to their personal requirements. Customers have reported a range of benefits when upgrading the valves over the factory items. Here we have listed our most common upgrades using current production and the best new old stock items to help you get the most out of these fine Blackstar amplifiers.

Our Tung Sol upgrade has been one of our most popular kits for this amplifier and provides an outstanding upgrade to your amp.

In clean mode The Tung Sol EL34B offers a better balanced tone with a clear top end. The valve also has a cleaner treble response under saturation than the stock TAD valve and was more open and smooth particularly on chords.

The valve is also very controlled in the bass end and does not bottom out even under heavy riffing. Under normal use the valve has a smooth early clipping which is nice and crunchy and does not sound hard. When driven into distortion the valve is full and fat sounding and has a non-aggressive top end. This is ideal for rock blues players as it has a clean and detailed sound with a nice crunchy bite.
