One of the most famous American Valve manufactures of all time. RCA was responsible for designing and manufacturing many important valves such is the 6V6GT, 6L6GC, 7027a and the super EL84 known as 7189. RCA also pioneered many advances in manufacture such as the black plate coating and had a hand in helping GEC make the famous KT66.
Original American made RCA ECF82 6U8A made to military and industrial 6678 specification.

The valve is marked with RCA 6678 6U8A and comes in the original RCA box with 6678/6U8A markings.

The valve features the black plate anode coating strong internal supported anode plates with copper rods lower plate support and thick mica top and bottom and round halo getter.

This valve has been the first choice of high end audio users as it is close to the Telefunkens ECF82 performance but is half the price. The RCA is also very low in microphonics and is low in noise.

One technician who repaired many vintage Ampeg amplifiers used to use the RCA ECF82/6678 as re placement for the RCA 7199. This involves a wiring change which is now detailed online on various wed sites for point to point amplifiers. The sound was exactly the same and original 7199 are around 8 times the price of ECF82/6678.

The RCA is the considered by many as one of the very best sounding ECF82 types.
