The Mullard Radio Valve Co. Ltd was founded in 1920. In 1923,to meet the huge consumer demand in electronics Mullard entered an agreement with Philips of Holland and by 1926 Philips bought Mullard and established one of the greatest valve manufacturing companies in world history.

They developed many iconic valve such as the ECC83, EF86, EL34,EL37, EL84, GZ34 and GZ37.These are regarded as the best valves of their type ever made and original Mullard items are high prized by Musicians Broadcasters and Audiophiles the world over due to their sound quality. You can see how these valves were made on the front of our website in the Blackburn storey.
Special matched pair

At the request of a professional customer who need matched pairs of the M100. We have a number of matched pairs available. Please note that for little dot amplifiers we have never found that these amplifiers need matched pairs of the EF95/M8100.

The EF95/6AK5 is a small amplifier pentode that was used in low noise RF amplification for VHF. The Mullard M8100/CV4010 is a special high quality military version of the EF95.

The valves construction allows the valve to operate in high vibration applications due to its rugged construction.

The Mullard M8100 is used as the top upgrade for the little dot amplifiers. The Mullard is very fast and dynamic with a deep warm bass response. The Mullard also has the smoothest and has the most detailed mid-range response out of any EF95 valve that we have tested. The result is the most dynamic and enjoyable listening experience as they bring the music to life.

These are nice early items which customers are using to upgrade the stock valves in the Little Dot MK 11,111 & IV headphone amplifier and also in the Yaqin CD players and Grant Fidelity units and upgrades the Chinese 6J1.

Theses valves are dual matched on Gain and Transconductance for application that require matched valves and have passed the following tests:

Gain (m/A)
Transconductance (gm) M/AV
Output Drive Tested
Noise 1 (signal to noise)
Noise 2 (Aural)
Microphonics Test 1(Ambient)
Microphonic Test 2 (Shock)
Cathode Test
Grid Leakage Test
