The Mullard Radio Valve Co. Ltd was founded in 1920. In 1923,to meet the huge consumer demand in electronics Mullard entered an agreement with Philips of Holland and by 1926 Philips bought Mullard and established one of the greatest valve manufacturing companies in world history.

They developed many iconic valve such as the ECC83, EF86, EL34,EL37, EL84, GZ34 and GZ37.These are regarded as the best valves of their type ever made and original Mullard items are high prized by Musicians Broadcasters and Audiophiles the world over due to their sound quality. Special Matched Pair

This is a special balanced version with matched triode sections available in matched pairs. For use in in critical positions in Tube compressors and dual driver stages in Audio amplifiers & Guitar amplifiers.

This Mullard ECC81 CV4024 has the CV4024 markings which were the UK Government designation that indicated this is special quality RAF valve that was specially designed to work in the most difficult operating conditions. This valve was specially designed for long life and be shock resistant up to 500g and with a high temperature rating.

The CV4024 has the famous double ribbed ladder plate anode structure and feature large wide ribbed plates with special copper plate supports that suppress microphonics which makes these valves very low in noise as well as microphonics.

They were supplied to NATO forces across the world and therefore used the highest quality components and underwent strict quality controls.

They are simply made better; they last longer, have less noise and have conformity to the high specification design parameters. So when you compare this to modern ECC81 you will understand why the CV4024 is one of the best of its type.

When you listen to these you instantly get that classic Mullard sound in audio application.
When used to drop the gain in a guitar amplifier or pedal you get that dynamic Mullard tone. Sonically the valves are warm and clean with excellent top end extension.

This is certainly the best Mullard ECC81 ever made and a great valve to use in guitar amplifier as well as high end audio due to its outstanding performance.

We offer these in Specially Selected Balanced triode sections in matched pairs for Audio Phono stages, Phase splitters, Audio & Tube microphones.

These Balanced preamp valves are Dynamically Drive tested under real working condition and are matched on dB gain. They also have passed the following tests:
