Special Matched Pair

These are Original Tungsram ECC82 which were made in famous Hungarian Tungsram Factory. They feature the rare supported half plate anode with the finest quality copper support rods and the ring getter.

The design of the half plate anode was considered to offer better isolation to shock and vibration and these valves were made with the highest grade materials and with no compromise on selection or quality control.

These valves have a number of unique features such as high grade filament isolation so even after long periods of use the filament will not degrade and were rated for long life.

The Tungsram has a very open and full sound and has the Mullard 3D midband imaging that is often talked about. The midrange is warm and very transparent and nothing short of fabulous. The standout feature is their dynamics and great accuracy with a clear musical top end.

Over the years we have had many professional audio customers ask us to check our stock to see if we have any of the Half plate items. Customers have said that the half plate has more musical speed and dynamics. This has made this item very most sought after.

When you look at the price this valve offers the best quality to price ratio available on the market today. Please note that due to handling when testing these some of the print has worn away. This is a super quality ECC82 for those who want the best.

We offer these in Specially Selected Balanced triode sections in matched pairs for Audio Phono stages.

These Balanced preamp valves are Dynamically Drive tested under real working condition and are matched on dB gain. They also have passed the following tests:

Gain (db) Drive Tested
Transconductance (gm) Drive Tested
Output Drive Tested
Noise 1 (signal to noise)
Noise 2 (Aural)
Microphonics Test 1(Ambient)
Microphonic Test 2 (Shock)
Cathode Test
