Tesla started production in 1922 under its original name of Radioslavia Ltd in Czechoslovakia. It has a long history of manufacturing high quality transmitting valves and defense equipment. The Tesla factory was known for making some outstanding valves. The Original EL34 better in terms of microphonics and reliability than the famous Mullard EL34, hence Marshall used the Tesla EL34 from the mid 1970s onwards. The frame grid E83CC was due to its construction the most expensive of it type to produce. Still to this day it is one of the best sounding ECC83/12AX7 types ever made. These are just a few of an endless list of pioneering valves produced by this great Czechoslovakian factory that sadly is no longer with us.
Red Box Selected

The Original TESLA factory produced one of the best sounding NOS EF86. Made in the Tesla plant in Czechoslovakia these Tesla EF86 are superbly constructed.

The valve features the grey electrostatic barrel which wraps around the plates with mica spaces which support the anode structure in the glass. This design was pioneered by Telefunken as it Offer better structural rigidity exceptional durability. This results in making the valve very resilient to vibration and the valve also has a very low noise floor.

This design concept was also used by Siemens as well as Tesla and Tungsram because of the above advantages

These valves were factory selected by Tesla and come in the red Tesla boxes and we have retested these and confirmed the factory readings.

These are great in valve microphones and high end audio applications as they provide a detailed warm sound with excellent balanced with superb image and detail. This makes them an ideal replacement in audio amplifiers such as the QUAD 11.

These also have proved to be excellent in vintage as well as high end guitar amplifiers
such as Vox, Blackstar, Badcat, 65 amplifiers and Matchless. Limited stock on these,
