American made RCA 6SL7WGT was made for the American military contracts and has many of the desirable features,
The valve is constructed with small inverted welded black plate with solid bottom getter.
Sound wise, the valve has a very balanced sound with well-rounded bass response detailed presentation which makes it very popular in high audio amplifiers.
Many customer have told us over the years that these they feel that these are one of the best Audio 6SL7 Types. Indeed for audio the RCA real strong point is its musical top end clarity which is very transparent and has a warm midband which is excellent on vocals and strings.
I have carried out many tests for bass guitarist In my own Ampeg B15N. I have found that generally the RCA valves offer excellent clarity and bass note definition, indeed with these 6SL7WGT installed in the Ampeg it sounded fatter and fuller.
The other real plus point for those players that uses flat wound strings the RCA 6SL7WGT maintained treble definition and the sound did not descending into a muddy thud like some 6SL7 types.
This is a rugged American 6SL7WGT valve is not only a great Audio valve but also one of the best valves for the AMPEG B-15, B-15N and B-18 bass combos.
