These are specially selected full revalve kits for Mesa Boogie owners. The sets consist of specially position selected pre amp valves that have been selected for each position in your Mesa. We have 2 pre amp kits, Standard gain, to give a warm and fat overdrive and Our Classic kit provides boogie owners with a valve close in tone to the vintage Mullard ECC83. In terms of 6L6GC we have selected sets available that will work with the boogies fixed bias arrangement. Certain 6L6GC will be better for certain kinds of music and these we have indicated in our product description.

The Harma 12AX7WA Vintage and 5881 upgrade kit has been designed to give you later breakup with an outstanding clean sound with midband warmth without going thin and mushy especially when pedals are used to overdrive your amplifier.

The late break allows your pre amp to be cleaner which in turn does not drive your output valves as hard allowing you to get that power amp distortion more naturally resulting in more of your amps tone.

The Harma 12AX7WA Vintage has been specially designed by the factory to recreate the two most vital elements of classic valve sound. The famous Mullard mid band and the outstanding top end clarity of the General Electric.

Sonically, the Harma 12AX7WA Vintage has plenty of definition with a clear open top end chime whether played in clean or overdriven mode. The factory enhanced midband replicates the vintage Mullard producing as warm and thick mid sound with excellent note the definition.

The master stroke is that the Harma 12AX7WA does not go thin and fizzy or harden in the midland when driven with pedals. it retains the sparkle and chime and gives the overdriven sound fatness and smoothness without being brittle or hard.

The Harma 5881 is the original button based Russian military valve that powered the Mesa sound in the mid to late eighties. These original 5881 produce a very tight and focused sound with immense attack. When used in Mesas high gain circuit the valve produces a tight crunchy wall of sound which is very punchy. The bass response is far tighter and clearer and more importantly more extended . If the valve is pushed with the pedals at the front end the treble is forward and nicely aggressive without any fuzz. If you scoop out the mids then you still retain the punch and clarity unlike many other 6L6GC types.

The rectifier is crucial as it needs to supply the correct voltages to the power valves and we have found no better than Original JAN specification 5U4GB made in the U.S.A by Philips.

In many users opinion the Jan 5U4GB was the best of its type. The valve features a ruggedised vibration proof box anode construction, Top and side getter to ensure that gas free evacuation was achieved and to maintain the vacuum at its best. The valve has high grade filament isolation so even after long periods of use the filament will not degrade.

The valve also has a higher current capacity than a 5U4G so is many players choice is Mesa Boogie Dual and Triple rectifiers.
