The 12AX7WB was designed by Sovtek to have higher gain and earlier breakup than the WA.The WB has more punch and bite and made to have a darker top end response to smooth out it the valves more aggressive response under heavy overdrive.
When the valve is run into distortion it is more aggressive and produces a harder less rounded sound. The treble response is more forced and less polite. The bass response is tight and the midrange is a little leaner and not as fat sounding.
The Sovtek 12AX7WB are Ideal if you want to spice up a vintage amp. Kick in a boost pedal and you get a beautifully saturated tone. You get a hooligan experience, the WA on steroids
