Svetlana valves are different for the Original Svetlana AKA Winged C that were made by made by the JSC Svetlana Company that owned and operated the Svetlana factory in St. Petersburg, Russia. Watford Valves were one of the largest suppliers of Original Svetlana Winged C until the factories closure in 2012. We have always referred the original Svetlana products as Svetlana winged C

The Svetlana Electron Devices brand name was bought by New Sensor in 2001. JSC sued New Sensor over the use of the name. In 2003, both parties signed an agreement giving New Sensor the exclusive right to the use of Svetlana Electron Devices name and giving JSC the exclusive right to use the winged-C logo.

Until recently it was not possible for us to offer Svetlana valves manufactured at the New Sensor owned Xpo-Pul factory which is known as Reflektor in Saratov, Russia.

So In order that you are clear about what you are purchasing we have defined the New Svetlana Valves as Svetlana Reflector. We have done this as companies selling Svetlana valve do not make the distinction clear enough.

Watford Valves were trading prior to 2001 and dealt with all parties concerned. Some companies making claims to know what happed during this time were not even trading at this time. Which is why you can trust Watford valves and why we have made the further distinction.
These Svetlana Reflector 6550C are made at Xpo-Pul factory also known as Reflector in Saratov, Russia.

This Reflector made Svetlana 6550C is a faithful re-issue of the original design and construction of the famous winged C 6550C.

The Original Svetlana 6550C winged C is rightly regarded as one of the best sounding 6550 of all time. Indeed In my own tests these we not far behind the original General Electric JAN 6550A

The Reflector Svetlana reissue 6550C shares all of the same improvements of the Original Winged C 6550C.

The Reflector made Svetlana 6550C features the same tri laminated anode plate construction of the original which gives greater stability at high voltages. A gold plated molybdenum alloy control grid and a graphite coated screen grid to reduce secondary emission. This also helps the valve dissipate the heat more efficiently thus resulting in better performance. It also shares the single piece beam forming electrode with precise screen grid alignment.

The Svetlana Reflector 6550C produces as near as you can get to exceptional sound quality of the original Winged C. It replicates the tight extended musical bass and clear presentation that was the trademark of the original. The bass is rock solid and very well balanced. The top end is very smooth with no hardness.

The Originals Winged C was voted best buy by many of the world's top reviewers in both audio and professional music magazines. I join them in rejoicing that these are now available again.

These fantastic sounding 6550 are burnt in and dual matched by us on anode current and gain and we have matched pairs and quads
