The 6L6GC General Electric late production has become the reference standard to which all 6L6GC are compared.
We Have these in single valves only and these can be used in any amplifier that uses just 1 6L6GC.
Blackstar Studio 10 and Peavey Windsor are two such amplifiers that these have been very popular in. These are just great valves for a single Ended recording amplifier.
These are in many Professional guitarist opinion are the best sounding 6L6GC ever made. These are so good that Aspen Pitman, the founder of Groove tubes, made a recreation of this very valve. For those of you how want the real deal then this is probably your last chance as these .
The later production USA made 6L6GC are identified by their clear top, with the getter and flashing on the side. The highest quality copper rods inside a unique anode structure made this valve stand out. The valve has white GE lettering and logo but this has rubbed thin on the valve due to handling when we tested them, these have the 6L6GC USA acid etched into the glass.
So what made this valve a real classic is its trademark large soundstage sound characteristic, It simply fills the room.
This valve defined that big powerful American sound. The 6L6GC GE has a larger than life smooth distortion which allows ever detail through. This is why it was the first choice of all the big American amp makers including Fender. When you add the fact that the valves solid and fluid bass response with clear midrange and excellent balanced 6L6GC you start to realise why people say it was the best ever made.
