E.I stands for Elektronska industrija as was a large manufacture of vacuum tubes. They bought the Philips tooling from Philips when the plant closed and continued to make valves until the factories closer in the late 1990's

The EI EL84 has always been a valve that has been noted for it high gain and fast dynamic sound.

These valves provided one of the best rock sounds of any EL84.

The valve has good gain with a thick even distortion. The bass is full and clear with plenty of crunch. This valve also has more top end detail than many others and performed well in our audio tests. When fully overdriven the valve remained in control

Overall a great sounding EL84 that is ideal in a small orange AD5 or Marshall Class 5
