RFT stands for Rundfunk- und Fernmelde-Technik - a group of state-owned technology companies in the former German Democratic Republic (East Germany). This company produced valves for Telefunken and Siemens and made the famous Siemens EL34. These valves are of very good quality and have excellent consistency.

The RFT EL34 is a rare, New Old Stock German made valve that many of you will know as the famous Siemens EL34.

The East German RFT factory made these mainly for Siemens and because of it high quality and excellent sound Brimar also re branded this valve to compete with Mullard.

Not only did Audio manufacture favour this valve, In The Uk Marshall used this valve for a time and in the USA the biggest uses was Paul Rivera and of course Randal Smith of Mesa Boogie.

Boogie used this as their premium EL34 under Mesa EL34 STR 450.

The valve is sought after for its incredible clarity and smooth even distortion. Players love these for the smooth even distortion and touch sensitive response, It has a lovey transparent lead sound which is why it many guitarist favourite EL34. Sadly now on one marched pair left
