Brimar was part of STC group and founded in 1933 to manufacture American pattern valves for the British market. Valves were produced in the UK in various locations such as Foots Cray. In 1960 Thorn Electrical Industries acquired the Brimar cathode ray tubes and valve business from STC and in 1961 Brimar became part of the joint venture between Thorn and AEI to manufacture and sell valves and cathode ray tubes. Brimar valves were produced and sourced from various factories across the world in later years.
17mm Long Plate

4 only in stock

ECC82 Brimar long plate CV4003 made in the Brimar UK factory for the RAF

The valve has all the most desirable features such as the 17mm long Brimar designed 3 rib grey anode plate with ring getter and shark fin top and bottom mica.

The valve is printed with the CV4003 KB/AD and also 6189 as this was a special military grade valve that was supplied to the RAF and used in aero avionics and communications equipment.

Many audio customers prefer the Long 17mm plate version as they offer a warm detailed full midband sound. The valves have a very clear bass response, which is both tight and musical. The sound has even detail across the audio spectrum, treble is clear and smooth.
