Modern Logo Dual Marked M8136 CV4003
These are the original Mullard ECC82 M8136 CV4003 which is the special military long life ECC82 that was specially designed for the British forces.
These have the modern Mullard logo and are Dual Marked CV 4003 and M8136 and also 6189 as this was a special military grade valve that was supplied to the RAF and used in aero avionics and communications equipment.
These valves have a unique in construction as Mullard were the only factory to use a box plate anode construction and these were made with the highest grade materials and made to the highest electrical specification. They have all the classic features such as the box anode plate with copper support rods and ring top getter.
The Box Plate CV4003 Mullard performance and detail has caused many in the Audio World to rave about the sound quality. Indeed Mullard detailed mid-range warmth and clarity and musical presentation is not equalled here by any other. This trademark sound has led many audio reviews to state that this is the best of its type ever made.
When you compare the Mullard to other top flight ECC82 such as the original Telefunken smooth plate ECC82 or the rare Telefunken ECC802S. The German valve are more neutral and leaner in the mid band. Then you can hear what all the fuss is about.
The Mullard adds fatness and body with plenty of mid range detail to the mid band.
Instruments that sit in this register really benefit and in particular female vocals simply come alive as if Adel was in the room. You can hear every breath she takes. String sections were simply stunning with plucked notes higher in the mix, not lost in a sea of sound.
The famous Mullard midband also extends to the bass as this is both clear and musical. The most important aspect is the speed and clarity of the music. It makes music enjoyable and these dynamics and musical transparency has made the Mullard CV4003 so famous. These valves in a top end unit pick up every little detail. Which is why this valve has become so sort after and talked about.
We offer these in Specially Selected Balanced triode sections in matched pairs for Audio Phono stages.
