This is a special balanced version with matched triode sections for use in in critical positions in Tube microphones, Tube compressors and phase inverter position in Audio & Guitar amplifiers where balanced operation is required. Customers have asked us for these for use as Phase Inverter and for The V1 position to reduce the gain in high gain amps such as Mesa Boogies. We have very limited Stock on this valve.
The Groove Tube 12AX7R was the standard factory fitted valve in a large number of Fender amplifiers. It has also become the industry standard valve that is used by many other guitar amplifier manufactures
There are a number of good reasons why this valve was fitted as standard by Fender.
Its clean sounds are very clear and detailed at the top .This provides clarity over all frequencies without a harshness at the higher end. Its super low microphonics and its solid and proven reliability
When the valve is run into distortion the valve produces a clear vintage style overdrive and handles boost signals from pedals extremely well with no fizziness.
It also has a very solid construction with rigid anode plates so is great in combo applications. It is also good all round replacement for modern high gain amps as it has low noise levels has a tight control on the overdriven sound.
