ITT Corporation (ITT) produced specialty components for the aerospace, transportation, energy and industrial markets. ITT, through its subsidiary C. Lorenz AG produced high quality valves in the UK and Germany.

Black Plate

ITT 6K6GT based its design on the RCA or as one American customer told me they copied it.

The valve features a large round halo getter, black rounded anode plate with black base.
These have become very popular with audio users in Chinese made amplifiers as the valve displays a smooth and detailed treble response with a musical balanced sound.

The Feedback that we had at the time was this valve sounded very close to the RCA.

In my own reissue 63 reverb I used the ITT more than any other, why, when we had so many great 6K6GT on hand ?, a good question. I found that it was cleaner than the RCA and it provided a fuller and fatter sounding mid band. It was really warm and musical and I just loved the sound.

We export most of these to the USA so I thought I would ask a customer why he prefered these.

He told me that these items were made in Japan and these are identical to the Japanese made Raytheon he had. To use his words, these are the best mothers that I have ever come across.

The ITT 6K6GT offers excellent audio performance with a price that is half of the famous RCA .
