12BY7A made by General Electric in the USA. The 12BY7A was widely used by radio amateurs as a driver stage for a pair of 6146B tetrodes in the output stage of HF transmitters up to 30 MHz.

In Audio applications, The 12BY7A beam power tetrode is known for exceptional sound quality and wide frequency response. It is was used in Harman Karmon Citation II audio amplifier.

The valve quality and performance made it popular in vintage test equipment such as the vintage Tektronix 500 series oscilloscopes.
